Plain weave is the most widely used classic weaving form for electromagnetic shielding fabrics.
Plain weave is the most widely used classic weaving form for electromagnetic shielding fabrics. The warp and weft yarns are arranged in a staggered pattern, resulting in a flat, compact structure with strong dimensional stability and balanced, versatile performance, suitable for the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) scenarios of most conventional electronic devices. After years of formula and weaving process optimization and upgrades, the new generation of plain weave EMI shielding fabrics has seen comprehensive performance improvements. With its strong versatility, moderate cost-effectiveness, and convenient processing, it firmly holds a mainstream position in the basic category of flexible electromagnetic shielding fabrics.
Standard plain weave EMI shielding fabric uses high-strength polyester filament as a base, with a uniform copper-nickel alloy conductive layer plated on both sides. The dense and flat warp and weft arrangement results in minimal fabric stretching deformation. After cutting and adhesive bonding, it is not prone to warping or deformation, and the die-cutting yield is extremely high. It provides stable shielding effectiveness of 75~90dB across the entire frequency band, covering most common EMC frequency bands in consumer electronics, communication terminals, and industrial control equipment. It exhibits balanced bending resistance and oxidation resistance, and its service life under normal indoor operating conditions can reach more than 5 years. The fabric has a smooth, flat surface and can be laminated with various substrates such as foam, adhesive backing, and heat insulation film, resulting in hundreds of EMC accessories, including conductive shielding foam, single-sided adhesive shielding tape, and custom-cut sealing gaskets.
From laptop motherboard enclosures and router cavity linings to industrial mini controller shell shielding and automotive signal cable winding, plain weave EMI shielding fabric can meet basic protection needs. Different weights, thicknesses, and plating materials can be customized according to customer requirements. Leveraging its mature technology, stable supply, and wide applicability, this type of fabric holds over half of the basic flexible conductive fabric market share. The R&D team continuously fine-tunes yarn density for high-frequency applications, launching high-frequency dedicated versions that cater to both the general market and niche high-end applications.
